Samuel Moyle Boone
Samuel Moyle Boone 89, of Chapel Hill, died Monday May 5, 2008 at UNC Hospital. Mr. Boone was a native of Gates County, NC, son of the late William Jordan and Minnie Belle Williams Boone. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was retired from UNC-CH Academic Affairs Library as librarian after 30 years of service, and went on to Duke University's Perkins Library for five years. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy Bates Boone; daughter, Dr. Nancy Anne Boone of Chapel Hill; sister, Mary E. Richardson of Powhatan, VA. He was preceded in death by his three brothers, William J. Boone Jr., Sidney G. Boone and Roger H. Boone.
