Buddy Poppies

The Poppy is abundant on Flanders fields. This field is the final resting place for many of our nation's young. Young men who went from "over here" to "over there." The VFW Buddy Poppy Program puts poppies on the breast of Americans of all ages, of all races, of all beliefs. It is our way of remembering the sacrifices of our fellow Americans.

This November 11th is Veterans Day. It is also known as Remembrance Day and Armistice Day for in 1918, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month the guns fell silent. The "war to end all wars" was finally over.

Poppies are made by disabled and needy veterans in VA Hospitals.
